Phil 1: 1 - 11
"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ - to the glory and praise of God."
Why didn't the writer mention that reading the bible/praying more/attending church related activities may abound more and more in the knowledge and depth of insight; instead, the writer mentioned that our LOVE may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight?
This has reminded me that at the end of the day, it is our love for God that will result in a greater knowledge (of Christ) and depth of insight - it is the love of God that compels us to do what we're doing. No matter how much we read the bible/pray/attend church related activities, it is the relationship with God that ultimately determines our knowledge of Christ and depth of insight.
Christianity is more than just a religion, it is a personal and unique relationship each of us has with God.
How is your relationship with God today?
